Furniture and appliance shoppers in cities such as Lake Charles, Lafayette, Alexandria, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Monroe, Port Allen, and the Greater New Orleans area might soon find themselves with one less option when it comes to furnishing and outfitting their homes. A one-time leader in the furniture and appliance industry has officially confirmed it has filed for bankruptcy protection as of this past Tuesday.

At their regularly scheduled monthly meeting held on Thursday, July 25th, the Jackson Parish Sports Hall of Fame (JPSHOF) Board made final arrangements for the Class of 2024 Induction Banquet. The date and location selected for the enshrinement of the new, six-member class is Saturday, October 5th at the Family Center of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

RECALL ALERT: Thousands of Louisiana Vehicles Could Be Impacted By Faulty Fuel Pump
LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - Hyundai vehicle owners in Louisiana may need to check their fuel pumps after a recall notice from the company that impacts nearly 55,000 vehicles. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the automotive company is recalling certain 2019-2023 models of Genesis G70, Veloster N, Elantra N, and Kona N because of problems with the fuel delivery system.
