    SC man arrested on drug trafficking & manufacturing charges, Lexington County sheriff says

    A South Carolina man was arrested on multiple charges following a drug bust at his Midlands home, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department .

    Jarvis Oneil Adams, a 37-year-old Batesburg resident, was charged with trafficking meth and possession of the supplies to manufacture crack , the sheriff’s department said Wednesday in a news release. He was also charged with manufacture, distribution, etc., of cocaine base, jail records show.

    “Agents identified Adams as a local drug trafficker,” Sheriff Jay Koon said in the release. “Their investigation led to a search warrant at his home .”

    During a June 28 search of a shed on Adams’ property, deputies found drug-making supplies and substances, the sheriff’s department said. That included a spoon, whisk, glass containers and a heating source that field tested positive for cocaine base, according to the release.

    Additionally, a box containing more than 400 grams of a clear, crystal-like substance consistent with meth was also in the shed, the sheriff’s department said.

    “Agents arrested Adams at his home Friday and transported him to the Lexington County Detention Center,” Koon said.

    Adams’ bond was set at $45,000 on the combined charges and he remains behind bars, jail records show.
