    Bath woman arrested on assault charges after late-night incident

    BATH, N.Y. ( WETM ) — A Bath woman was arrested on Tuesday after police said she caused an incident where she tried to attack several first responders.

    According to the Village of Bath Police Department, around 11:42 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, police responded to a report of a woman screaming near a residence on West Steuben Street in Bath.

    Police said that 31-year-old Alesha M. Hunt was at a home she wasn’t supposed to be at due to violating an order of protection.

    Police said units tried to take Hunt into custody, but said she resisted and tried to bite officers. The report states that Hunt injured an officer’s leg as a result of her resisting.

    A medical examination was required and Hunt was taken to a local hospital, with the report saying Hunt kicked and injured an ambulance worker on purpose in the back of the ambulance.

    The report states that Hunt was evaluated and cleared before being turned back over to the police and taken to the Steuben County Jail for further processing.

    Hunt was arrested on the following charges:

    • Criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
    • Aggravated family offense, a class E felony.
    • Resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
    • Obstruction in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
    • Two counts of assault in the second degree, a class D felony.
    • Attempted assault in the second degree, a class E felony.
