Like a phoenix rising from the ashes entrepreneurs soldier on
The more I listen to the stories people tell of their lives, the more proof I continually find that resilience is crucial to all, but especially to entrepreneurs. Bonnie Gehman opened The Treasure Trove at 6 South 7th Street in Perkasie in 1980 with her friend, Dottie Kapusta, as her partner. Dottie’s husband got the two women started by giving them a loan. Bonnie and Dottie were able to pay off their loan within the year, and from there the business took off.
Bedminster artist’s out-the-box mural complete
Ed Bennett’s mural on the side of his Bedminster barn is finally complete. The finishing touch was the American flag he had mounted on the roof as a three-dimensional extension of his painting, which shows black, brown, white and red-tinted forearms and hands reaching upward, clasping a pole. Bennett, who owns and operates the Galvanized America Inn and Art Gallery with his wife, Sherri, said the mural is meant to evoke a message of inclusivity and diversity. Phillies Face Interesting Decision Regarding Backup Catcher
The Philadelphia Phillies will have an interesting decision to make in terms of their backup catcher. With J.T. Realmuto expected to return from the injured list soon, the team will have to choose between two options. Both Garrett Stubbs and Rafael Marchán have compelling cases to be the Phillies’ backup catcher going forward. In this case, minor league options are not a factor because both Stubbs and Marchán are in their last option year. Neither player has more than five years of major league service time, meaning an option being rejected by a player is not a factor.
