Significant Damage Reported in Parts of Hunterdon County

The wild weather event had reported 60+ mph winds, a significant barometric pressure drop and 30 degree temperature dive and was documented by the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station located at the Snyder Research & Extension Farm in Pittstown. As many as 15,000 households experienced loss of power. Quakertown Fire Company has established a Command Post at the fire station. Representatives from Franklin Township, Police and DPW are engaged with the QFC team; all roads have been driven, all blockages have been noted and JCP&L has been informed of all issues. Trees and power lines are down all over the area, and officials caution drivers to obey the warnings of roads closed and reroute. Downed wires can still be live and can cause injury and death. The Hunterdon Parks Department is also reporting numerous trails with damage. Please follow the guidance posted on trails. Trail goers risk injury as fallen trees can be unstable. Dottie’s parents were longtime collectors of antiques and they helped by contributing numerous items to the fledgling consignment shop. Bonnie and Dottie were able to pay off their loan within the year, and from there the business took off.
