Kim Mulkey Had Classless Postgame Remark After LSU vs. South Carolina Brawl

Kim Mulkey is about as controversial as sports coaches get, so it shouldn't come as a surprise she made a pretty classless postgame remark after LSU's loss to South Carolina in the SEC Tournament Championship on Sunday.

The SEC showdown between the two juggernauts ended with an ugly brawl. Flau'jae Johnson bumped a South Carolina player late in the fourth quarter, which led to USC's Kamilla Cardoso shoving Johnson to the ground. Chaos ensued thereafter, and refs took about 20 minutes to sort things out.

Mulkey, of course, addressed the fight after the game. Instead of apologizing on behalf of her team, the LSU head coach took things in a different direction.

Mulkey, 61, admitted that she wished Cardoso shoved LSU's Angel Reese instead of Johnson, seeing that Reese is five inches taller than Johnson. In other words, Mulkey thinks it would have been a fairer fight.

"No one wants to see that ugliness," Mulkey said about the brawl. "But I can tell you this - I wish she would have pushed Angel Reese. You're 6'8. Don't push somebody that little. That was uncalled for in my opinion."

She makes a good point, but inciting violence in any capacity is completely unnecessary.

Cardoso, meanwhile, has issued an apology for her actions that led to Sunday's fight.

"I would like to extend my sincerest apologies for my actions during today’s game. My behavior was not representative of who I am as a person or the South Carolina program, and I deeply regret any discomfort or inconvenience it may have caused. I take full responsibility for my actions and assure you that I am committed to conducting myself with the utmost respect and sportsmanship in the future," Cardoso said on social media .

Mulkey and the Tigers have plenty to think about ahead of selection Sunday on Mar. 17.
