    BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Are you looking for a book to read? Baton Rouge has several bookstores where you can find your next novel or dive into facts about the people, places and things that interest you most.

    Customers can choose from several categories of reading material including fiction, nonfiction, sports, fantasy, romance, science fiction, mystery and historical fiction. Bookstores in the capital city offer a variety of books to read for all ages.

    Students at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge Community College and Southern University who are in need of textbooks for the upcoming semester can stop by their university’s bookstore. They will also have the chance to upgrade their gear with the latest apparel.

    Where to find spring drinks like matcha, coffee with rose, lavender in Baton Rouge

    Barnes & Noble (2 locations)

    Barnes & Noble features books of all categories including fiction, nonfiction, teen and young adult and kids. The store also features audiobooks for customers to choose from as well as toys, games, stationery, gifts, music and movies.

      • Citiplace – Open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
      • Bluebonnet – Open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

    2nd & Charles

    2nd & Charles offers a selection of books, video games, DVDs and vinyl records. The bookstore also buys, sells and trades CDs and other featured items in the store.

    • Hours: Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

    Red Stick Reads

    Red Stick Reads features a selection of different books, activities, games and gaming. According to its website , the bookstore specializes in children’s books.

    • Hours: Open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
    • Location: 541 Eugene St.

    Terrace Avenue Bookstore

    The Terrace Avenue Bookstore in Baton Rouge offers a selection of books. If you have found a book you want to see, you can make an appointment Monday-Friday. Visit here to make an appointment.

    EBRPL – Recycled Reads

    EBRPL – Recycled Reads located on North Boulevard in Baton Rouge offers all kinds of books including fiction, cookbooks, textbooks, history, travel, arts and crafts. The store also provides DVDs and CDs.

    Baton Rouge Community College Bookstore

    The Baton Rouge Community College Bookstore offers its students all the essentials, from notebooks to textbooks. BRCC students can also purchase merchandise, including T-shirts, hats, jackets and shorts.

    Barnes & Noble at LSU

    Barnes & Noble at LSU is a one-stop shop for students needing textbooks for upcoming classes in the semester. Students and visitors to LSU’s campus can also purchase some of the latest LSU Tigers merchandise in the bookstore.

    • Hours: Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
    • Location: 2 Union Square.

    Louisiana’s Double Play

    Louisiana’s Double Play has a selection of silver-age and bronze-age comics. According to its Facebook page, the bookstore buys, sells and trades cards and comics.

    • Hours: Open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

    Claitor’s Law Books and Publishing Division

    Claitor’s Law Books and Publishing Division in Baton Rouge is a retail legal bookstore. The store offers publishing and printing services, according to its Facebook page.

    • Hours: Open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

    Jason’s Southeast Cards & Comics

    Jason’s Southeast Cards and Comics on Acadian Thruway offers a selection of comic books, gaming and sports cards. The store features weekly comic book releases.

    Southern University and A&M College Bookstore

    The Southern University and A&M College Bookstore has textbooks and other class supplies. Students can purchase Southern University merchandise, including T-shirts, hats, sweatshirts and drinkware.

    St. Mary’s Books and Gifts

    St. Mary’s Books and Gifts in Baton Rouge has a selection of Catholic gifts and books. The store also features rosaries, bibles, medals, communion and confirmation items, statues and crucifixes.
