    BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — On Thursday, July 4, Baton Rouge will celebrate the Independence Day holiday with several celebrations and events. We have compiled a list of all the community events leading up to the annual holiday.

    Many activities will be offered throughout the region as we celebrate Independence Day across the United States. So, head out with your friends and family at one of these locations that will either be offering family-friendly activities or a fireworks display.

    Stars & Stripes: A Celebration at Conway

    This family-friendly event in Gonzales at the Conway Town Square will feature kids’ activities, live music by the Lauren Lee Band and fireworks show.

    • When: 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 27.
    • Where: 7900 Louisiana Hwy. 44, Gonzales.

    Celebration in the Park & Fireworks

    There will be plenty of activities throughout the evening at the Celebration in the Park & Fireworks event including an Art & Farmers market, food trucks, pie-baking contest, hot dog and watermelon eating contest and children’s activities.

    • When: 5 p.m. Saturday, June 29.
    • Where: Sidney Hutchinson Park, Walker.

    Kenilworth Independence Day Parade

    The 52nd annual Kenilworth Independence Day Parade will take place the day before the 4th of July. This year’s theme is “We the People.”

    • When: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3.
    • Where: Kenilworth subdivision, Baton Rouge.

    4th of July Festival and Fireworks

    The 4th of July Festival and Fireworks in Gonzales will have chicken dinners, live music from the Kenny Cornett Band, pastalaya, bingo and a fireworks show.

    • When: 11 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Thursday, July 4.
    • Where: 176 Anthony F. Monica St., Gonzales.

    July 4th Hometown Celebration

    The 23rd Annual July 4th Hometown Celebration will feature kids’ rides, dancing, food, crafts, a boat parade and a fireworks display.

    • When: 3 p.m. Thursday, July 4.
    • Where: 57845 Foundry St., Plaquemine.

    4th of July Festival

    This free event in downtown Port Allen features live music from the Rockin’ Mozart School of Music Youth Bands from 5-6:30 p.m., followed by the Foret Tradition at 7-10 p.m. There will also be fireworks at 9 p.m. during the 4th of July Festival.

    • When: 5-10 p.m. Thursday, July 4.
    • Where: Downtown Port Allen.

    4th of July Live Music Package

    The free-day event will be at Crowne Plaza Executive Center in the capital city. Live music will be provided every night, including The Eddie Smith Band, Terrell Griffin & Velvet Audio and Dustin Lee Guidry.

    • When: 7 p.m. Thursday, July 4 to Saturday, July 6.
    • Where: 4728 Constitution Ave., Baton Rouge.

    4th of July Concert by Baton Rouge Concert Band

    Several composers will be featured at the 4th of July Concert by the Baton Rouge Concert Band including Sousa, Irving Berlin and Morton Gould. The show will be starting at 7 p.m. and is free to the public.

    • When: 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4.
    • Where: 7711 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge.

    LSU Museum of Art & Tsunami Downtown 4th of July Celebration

    Come eat, drink and relax at this year’s LSU Museum of Art & Tsunami Downtown 4th of July Celebration. Eventgoers can get viewing-only tickets for $25, general admission for $85 and VIP tickets for $165.

    • When: 7-10 p.m. Thursday, July 4.
    • Where: 100 Lafayette St., Baton Rouge.

    Red, White and Boom!

    This family-friendly event in the City of Central will offer a fireworks show, food and entertainment. The celebration will be at Shoe Creek.

    • When: 6 p.m. Friday, July 5.
    • Where: 14150 Grand Settlement Blvd., Central.
