LSU Alumni enters race for new majority-minority seat in Congress

SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) — Another candidate has entered the race for the newly drawn sixth congressional district stretching from Shreveport to Baton Rouge.

The Louisiana Legislature created the district in January of 2024.

According to his website, Quentin Anderson received his undergrad at Louisiana Tech and his law degree from Louisiana State University.

Anderson shares he is from Baton Rouge and advocates for social and environmental justice.

“Infrastructure, addressing the political culture, and making sure that we’re addressing that crime in a realistic evidence-based approach. I think that those are things that if we do that, we create a real strong foundation for a new generation of Louisiana leaders coming back here and wanting to invest here, wanting to grow here,” says Anderson.

According to his website, in 2021, Quentin founded the Black Business Bureau of Baton Rouge ‘designed to uplift Black-owned businesses.’

The qualifying deadline is July 19, and Election Day is on November 5.
