LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier livid that Death Valley isn't toughest place to play in College Football 25

There’s a lot of excitement around the upcoming release of EA Sports’ College Football 25 — not just among fans, but among players, as well.

However, not every player is pleased with all the information that has been released so far. Speaking to reporters at the Manning Passing Academy, LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier had a bone to pick with the fact that Tiger Stadium only ranked as the third toughest venue in the game.

“Don’t even get me started, first off,” Nussmeier said when asked about the game’s stadium rankings. “There’s no place like Death Valley at night, first off, it’s not even close. Kyle Field is loud, it’s not Death Valley. The Swamp is loud, it’s not Death Valley.

“I don’t want to piss NCAA off because I’d like them to make my rating nice… I’m not mad, I’m just saying. If you’re updating the players’ rankings, maybe come to one more game, and you might update the stadium ranking.”

Regardless of the stadium rankings, however, Nussmeier described the surreal feeling of seeing himself in a video game that he grew up playing. He added that he’s pre-ordered the game and has no intention of waiting for the free copy the developers are sending to players who opted in.

“It’s an unreal feeling,” Nussmeier said. “I played that game probably more than any game I’ve ever played. To be in it, I remember when they first announced it, I was speechless for a while. And then when they dropped the trailer and I saw myself, it was unreal. I just can’t describe, the fact that I’m about to be in a video game is absolutely insane, especially the game that I grew up playing.

“I’m so excited for the game to come out. I already got it pre-ordered, I know they’re sending us a free copy — thank you for that — but I’m not waiting for that free copy to get there. I need it the minute it releases.”

LSU fans will get the chance to play as Nussmeier and other Tigers stars when the game is released on July 19.
