As we approach the 2024 college football season, there have been numerous debates regarding which teams will make the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff. In the SEC, Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss seem to be garnering the most attention.

ESPN's Paul Finebaum believes that the LSU Tigers are not receiving the respect he feels they deserve. LSU is in its third year under Brian Kelly. In his first two seasons, the Tigers won 10 games both years, putting them on the cusp of making the playoff if a few games had gone differently.

Finebaum even said that he believes the Tigers are a team with a shot at making the College Football Playoff this season.

"I'm one of those, maybe I'm one of the rare ones, who thinks LSU has a shot at getting into the playoffs," Finebaum said.

Finebaum believes that the Tigers have room for improvement and are still working out some kinks. However, based on its schedule, he doesn't anticipate LSU losing many games in 2024. Finebaum notes that LSU's three most challenging games will all be played at home.

He did admit that some of LSU's road games are "tricky," but he believes that all of them are winnable. So, if LSU can win those games and most of its tough home games, it could be a playoff-bound season in Baton Rouge, La.
