A dead period in recruiting just ended and with the high school football season right around the corner, LSU uses this weekend to host several of the top recruits in the nation.

It’s called Bayou Splash and it produced results for the Tigers last year as the number one recruit in the Class of 2025, quarterback Bryce Underwood from Michigan, committed to LSU following this event last year.

A who’s who of the nation’s top recruits will be at this weekend’s Bayou Splash.

Several of them are already committed to LSU, including the nation’s number one running back Harlem Berry from St. Martin’s High School in Metairie, five-star cornerback D-J Pickett from Tampa, Florida and four-star receiver Derek Meadows, a recent verbal pledge from Las Vegas.

Topping the uncommitted visitors list is the nation’s number one safety, Jonah Williams, who is also an exceptional baseball player. Williams could be a high draft pick in next year’s Major League Baseball draft. He is from Galveston, Texas, and is coming off a visit to Texas on Thursday.

Williams has chosen August 24th to announce his commitment. LSU is one of his five finalists that also include Oregon, USC, Texas A&M and Texas.

LSU missed out on the state’s top cornerback, Westgate High’s Jaboree Antoine, who is now committed to Miami.

But the state’s second ranked cornerback Aidan Anding from Ruston High School will be in Baton Rouge this weekend. Texas is also pursuing the speedy three-sport athlete. Not only did Anding help Ruston win a state championship in football last December, he’s also an all-district basketball player and a standout track athlete.

Destrehan wide receiver Phillip Wright, who committed to Michigan earlier this month, will be on campus this weekend and he’s a prime candidate for the Tigers to flip. LSU has reportedly shown a lot more interest in Wright and his teammate, Jhase Thomas, a safety from Destrehan, committed to LSU on July 13th.

The number one defensive lineman in the country for the class of 2026 will also be in Baton Rouge. That’s St. Aug defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart.

LSU enters the weekend ranked third by on3.com for the best recruiting Class in 2025. The Tigers have 18 commitments and could get a couple more this weekend as they try to lock down the number one class in the nation for 2025.
