Kelly spoke highly of defensive changes that have been made to his team including Blake Baker and Bo Davis on the coaching staff.

He praised Harold Perkins among defensive standouts this spring and offseason while acknowledging the questions currently facing LSU's defensive unit.

"Everyone has questions (about the defense)," Kelly said to the Rotary Club as laughter filled the room.

He acknowledged his team's youth and need to grow into championship football players and coaches, adding that they are ready to do battle on the gridiron come September 1 when LSU takes on USC football in Las Vegas.
