MH City Council hears how tornado fundraiser will benefit affected Baxter county residents
The Mountain Home City Council Thursday night heard from Mayor Hillrey Adams about the recent fundraiser held for the tornado victims in Baxter County. The event raised between $70,000 and $80,000 to aid those affected by the storms that hit the county May 26. Adams says those that had damage in Baxter County need to go to the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas to apply for a grant.

Heavy rains lead to flooded roads, water rescue attempts
Wednesday’s early morning storms and heavy rains have resulted in multiple road closures being reported and emergency personnel conducting water rescue attempts. Baxter County Office of Emergency Management Director David Stults says county crews are assisting Marion County crews in Flippin and Yellville with swift water search and rescue operations due to flooding issues. Stults also urges motorists to avoid the Denton Ferry area because of flooding.

Barry Edwin Sayger age 80 of Mountain Home was arrested In Missouri in early June and after a month long stay in the Macon County Missouri Jail he was released to officials in Baxter County Arkansas to face charges of 1st Degree Sexual Assault.
Man jailed on charges of inappropriate sexual contact with minor female
A man accused of having sex with an underage female has been jailed in Baxter County. Fifty-five-year-old Gary Dale Robertson, who lists his address as a room at the Mountain Home Inn, was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center last Tuesday on multiple counts of 2nd degree sexual assault and sexual indecency with a child.
