Depending on the time of day and traffic, residents of the fast-growing Nashville suburb White House currently drive between 20 to 30 minutes to get to the nearest emergency room, but that could soon change. Cookeville Will Apply For 3rd Spring St Grant
Cookeville will apply for a new multi-modal grant to complete the next phase of the Spring Street Sidewalk project. This section would include sidewalks from Carlen Drive to the Saxony Development. Phase one of the project has been completed while phase two is expected to bid this fall. Community Development Director Jon Ward said the project began with a T-DOT grant application in 2014.

Two Suspects Wanted in Connection to Highway Patrol Trooper Shooting in Putnam County
Authorities are searching for two suspects who are wanted in connection to the shooting of Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Trooper Adam Cothron in Cookeville on July 19th. Authorities have identified one of the suspects as 29-year-old Braze Rucker and THP is offering a $10,000 award for information leading to the arrest of Rucker. Authorities are still trying to identify the second suspect.
