Two people were arrested in San Joaquin County earlier this week after allegedly leading police on a prolonged vehicle and foot pursuit, according to the Sheriff's Office.

At about 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies spotted an allegedly stolen vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop.

The driver allegedly failed to yield and a pursuit began near Hammer Lane and Etna Street in Stockton, eventually ending in the area of Mills Avenue and Lake Street in Lodi.

The suspects are accused of then fleeing on foot, but the driver was apprehended. The passenger remained at large but was located at about 1:30 p.m. and taken into custody.

Arrested were Brandon Beatty, 42, and Faith Johnson, who were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property, vehicle theft, felony evading with willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property, felony vandalism and resisting arrest.

As of Wednesday night, Beatty was still in jail with a bond of $325,000. Johnson was no longer in custody.
