Cal Fire law enforcement officers arrested a man last week they believe set two fires in recent weeks in Lake County.

Clearlake resident Donald Anderson, 41, was arrested at noon Friday on suspicion of four felony charges of arson in relation to two recent fires in Lake County. He was booked into Lake County Jail in Lakeport.

Anderson was charged with two felony counts of arson of a structure or forest land and two counts of arson during a state of emergency.

Anderson is accused of setting fires set on Sept. 22 off Seigler Canyon Road west of Lower Lake, and on Oct. 2 off New Long Valley Road in Clearlake Oaks.

The fire in Seigler Canyon burned .98 acre and the one off New Long Valley Road burned 0.01 acre.

Anderson has a history of arson. In January 2004, he received a 212-month sentence after being convicted of arson.

Cal Fire said to report fires or suspicious activity, call their secure arson hotline at (800) 468-4408. To learn more about preparing for the threat of wildfire, visit ReadyForWildfire.org.
