A Vallejo man was given five years in federal prison on Tuesday for being a felon in possession of ammunition, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California said.

Raykheem Guthery, 32, had been prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition after being convicted of at least three felonies, including one for forcible assault leading to grave bodily injury. At the time of his arrest, he was also the subject of a domestic violence protective order, federal prosecutors said.

In June 2022, Guthery was pulled over for driving a car without license plates. Prosecutors said he pretended to be someone else, told the officer he was not on parole or probation, and denied being armed.

He was on probation for felony assault and had a firearm loaded with an extended magazine on his person. The firearm was an un-serialized ghost gun which was loaded with one round of .40 caliber ammo in the chamber and another 17 rounds in an extended magazine, prosecutors said.
