Police arrested two people over the weekend for gunshots overheard in downtown Vallejo.

At approximately 1:36 a.m. Sunday, patrol officers heard multiple gunshots near the intersection of Capitol and Marin streets. Officers then saw a black Kia Sportage driving eastbound in the wrong lane on Florida Street.

They pulled the vehicle over and a records check revealed its driver had never been issued a valid driver's license and was a convicted felon.

Officers detained the driver and a search of the vehicle allegedly revealed two loaded firearms. The first firearm was registered to someone else. The second firearm, loaded with a high-capacity magazine, was reportedly stolen from Arizona.

Both firearms were booked into evidence, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

The driver was arrested and transported to Solano County Jail on multiple suspected crimes, including alleged possession of a stolen firearm by a convicted felon.
