McDonald's eyeing Sorrento Road for their latest Escambia County restaurant
Another set of golden arches could go up soon on Sorrento Road after a new development proposal was filed with Escambia County in July. The project’s site plan shows that developers intend for the new McDonald’s to be approximately 3,700 square feet with a drive-thru, with two lanes for customers to order at, and offer 48 parking spaces. A Synovus Bank formerly stood at the proposed site, which is located at 10291 Sorrento Road.
Pensacola woman faces 30 years in prison for fatal hit-and-run after extradition
The Pensacola woman found in Kentucky a year after allegedly killing a bicyclist during a hit-and-run was extradited to Escambia County but quickly posted bond. The Office of the State Attorney charged 41-year-old Jessica Hendrickson with failing to remain at a crash involving a death, a charge that could bring up to 30 years in state prison, for what Florida Highway Patrol says was a deliberate hit-and-run in 2023.
