Megan Borga is QACPS' Teacher of the Year

CENTREVILLE — Fifth grade teacher at Kennard Elementary School, Megan Borga was recently named the 2024 Queen Anne’s County Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year.

“Megan Borga exemplifies every characteristic of a master teacher,” Superintendent Dr. Patricia Saelens shared. “She builds student voice and autonomy. Her impact on students is immeasurable. We are beyond excited for her to represent QACPS as the 2024 Teacher of the Year.”

Borga was surprised to be named during the annual awards gala held in March. “I am so honored and humbled to be chosen as the 2024 QACPS Teacher of the Year,” she said. “Thank you to my family, friends, coworkers, principal, and so many QACPS staff members who have supported me on this journey. Thank you to the selection committee for bestowing me with this honor and the TOY committee for the hard work they put into this program.”

Borga said she looks forward to representing the exceptional teachers of Queen Anne’s County over the next year alongside the other teachers of the year in Maryland.
