Long Neck Rotary donates to Boys and Girls club

LONG NECK — Funding monthly birthday parties for the 105 participants in the club, the Long Neck Sunrise Rotary Club has dedicated $3,800 to provide gift cards, balloons, cupcakes and more for the next year.

Originally part of a district grant program procured by the Long Neck Sunrise Rotary Club, the program now is being run with proceeds from its annual golf outing held in June at The Peninsula Golf Club.

“We are so grateful that the Long Neck Sunrise Rotary Club has been able to continue these birthday celebrations,” Erica Kennedy, club director, said in a release. “The children have come to look forward to these Birthday Bash Fridays, and those celebrating their birthday enjoy the special attention they receive.”

Long Neck Sunrise Rotary Club meets on most Tuesdays for breakfast at 7:30 am on-site at the Ocean Grill Il on Long Neck Road, Millsboro and also offers Zoom participation. Visitors are welcome. For more information, visit www.longnecksunriserotaryclub.com .
