Speak Up: Millsboro hears options for Del. 24 juncture

    2024-08-31

Del. 24, heading west out of town, is busy and getting busier, due to the growth of the large golf community of Plantation Lakes. The road’s intersection with Delaware Avenue has caught the Delaware Department of Transportation’s eye: From January 2019 to January 2024, data shows that there were 30 vehicular collisions there.

    • It was never an issue until they approved all that housing there. Maybe Plantation residents can patiently wait to enter Del. 24 instead of speeding out of their community to cut off passing traffic. — William Hague
    • How about reporting a road that actually needs to be improved upon? Del. 15 or Canterbury Road from the intersection of South Dupont Highway in Viola to Midstate Road in Felton — hell, all the way to Milford — if there is not one accident a week on that road, then people are not traveling that road at all. — Kyle Hendrix

there needs to be a traffic light at every outlet of plantation lakes that stays red and doesn't turn green ever. plantation lakes just needs to be their own town

There needs to be a stoplight at both Plantation lakes BLVD and Delaware Ave. they need to be timed correctly so that there is minimal disruption. The entrance to the WaWa from 24 also needs to be changed. There is too much activity already in that area to ha e so many people coming in and out of the Wawa onto 24 as well.
