Elks golf tournament for veterans on Oct. 2

LEWES — The “Elks Golf Outing for Veterans” is scheduled for Oct. 2, at The Rookery Golf Club, 27052 Broadkill Rd., hosted by the Cape Henlopen Elks #2540, with registrations available by obtained by emailing CapeElksGolf@icloud.com , the lodge released.

Check-in is scheduled to start at 8 a.m., with a 9 a.m. sharp shotgun start. The team format is four-person scramble and costs $500 per team.

After golf, a reception will be held at the Elks Lodge, 18544 Beaver Dam Road, for awards, raffles, and lunch, according to the release.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will go to veterans’ organizations throughout Sussex County. In 2023, contributions included personal care items, financial support for Home of the Brave, scholarship funds for veterans attending DelTech and other veterans support totaling $17,000, the organization said.
