SMYRNA — Try it and you’ll like it.

So says Tynetta Douglas about the smoked ribs and brisket offered by S&T Southern Smokehouse BBQ’s food truck.

“I’m glad to say, in terms of clientele and how they have received us, it’s been good so far,” said Ms. Douglas, who operates the business with her husband, Shawn Douglas.

The couple opened the eatery two years ago, after relocating to Delaware from New York.

“We noticed that they didn’t have many options as to barbecue and comfort food in the area,” she noted.

Their truck serves at 324 N. Dupont Blvd. each Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. — or until the food sells out.

S&T also provides catering for occasions like weddings, corporate events and more.

A Sept. 20 ribbon cutting signified its new membership in the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Douglas said, by being able to network with other members and use the organization’s resources, she hopes to attract customers from Sussex and New Castle counties.

“We weren’t being seen as much as we liked through social media,” she said, adding that she and her husband are looking ahead, with a desire to link with school districts for events and join other small businesses for promotion.
