(KOLN) - Nebraska State Patrol troopers are readying up for busy roadways as the summer travel season comes to a close with Labor Day Weekend. “This weekend will be busy on Nebraska roads with the start of Husker football, the final weekend of the State Fair, and Labor Day weekend,” said Col. John Bolduc, NSP superintendent. “As we close out the summer travel season, let’s work together to make this a safe weekend on the roads so that everyone reaches their destinations safely.”

Tri County Northeast couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers at home by a 34-20 margin on Friday. Veterans Fundraiser Golf Tournament Set For Jackrabbit Run
GRAND ISLAND —Golfing for a cause is nothing new, but a mid-September golf tournament is shifting its focus to helping local veterans. Jackrabbit Run Golf Course is hosting a 4-person scramble at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 15 to benefit the Business Coalition For Veterans. The cost to register a team of four is $400, but includes 18-holes of golf with a cart, complementary range balls, two free drinks and a lunch banquet following the round. There will also be a hole-in-one prize offered from Roe Buick on the 7th Hole.
