The chaos left 10 passengers and four flight attendants injured as they headed to Mongolia from Korea on Sunday. The cabin of the plane violently rocked for 15 seconds, terrifying the flight while traveling roughly 34,100 feet above the ground, reported Daily Mail. Passengers not wearing seatbelts shot into the air, with one person soaring into the roof and landing in the aisle. “The plane sharply plunged so people were screaming and the meals were all knocked over,” a passenger said. “It was chaotic.” The 281 passengers were met with a medical team when they touched down in Mongolia, with the injured complaining of non-life threatening back and neck pain. More than a dozen people were left injured after a Korean Air flight struck severe turbulence over the weekend — sending passengers crashing into overhead bins and food flying around the cabin.

The chaotic mid-flight scenes erupted when Flight 197, which was carrying 281 passengers, encountered rough conditions shortly after taking off from South Korea’s Incheon Airport on Sunday, the JoongAng Daily reported.

Ten passengers and four flight attendants suffered back and neck injuries when the plane — en route to Mongolia — suddenly started to shake violently for roughly 15 seconds during the meal service.

A man out on probation for drug charges less than a year ago and a woman from Douglas were recently arrested following a search at a local apartment. On August 7, 2024, at around 1:00 PM, Detectives from the Coffee County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit were conducting a proactive narcotics patrol in Douglas. During their patrol, a detective spotted 30-year-old Christopher Lamar Hawkins, who had outstanding warrants for fleeing police and methamphetamine possession, driving a white 2021 Kia Sorento. Hawkins was stopped in front of apartment 203/204 on N Wheeler Ave, where two detectives approached him. Breanna Henderson, 33, then came out of apartment 203 to "investigate what was going on with Hawkins" and appeared to whisper with Hawkins during his arrest. The report states that Henderson, who temporarily lived with Hawkins, began whispering with him "presumably about nefarious activities due to Hawkins's previous history with drug distribution and evading law enforcement."
