Theatre Organist Ian Fraser Back in Rahway This Fall for Silent Films at UCPAC
RAHWAY, NJ — Theatre organist Ian Fraser will be back in Rahway this fall to provide accompaniment for two silent film performances taking place at the Union County Performance Arts Center (UCPAC). Spotswood PTA to Welcome Students Back with Annual Ice Cream Socials
SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Spotswood School District students return to classes on Thursday, September 5. Once again, the Spotswood PTA is welcoming the district's youngest students back-to-school by hosting ice cream socials at the Schoenly and Appleby Schools. The ice cream socials started as a way for parents and kids to meet their new classmates, teachers and principals. This family-friendly event is always a big draw and a huge hit. The Spotswood PTA is hosting the Schoenly School's Ice Cream Social on Friday, September 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the school's multipurpose room. If you tuned in to watch the Democratic National Convention, you might have seen a few familiar faces from Montclair and Essex County. Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill and Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill, both of Montclair, were in Chicago for the DNC. Sherrill, who is considering a run for governor of New Jersey, spoke at a DNC event honoring women in national security. Gill, who was joined by his wife, Assemblywoman Alixon Collazos-Gill, served as a delegate.

A woman who suffered complications after having spine surgery won a $3 million settlement, the New Jersey Law Journal reported Aug. 23. The woman had a same-day microdiscectomy in February 2018 at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, N.J., the report said.
