Vienna church to host town’s first large-scale solar project

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - People buying groceries on government assistance should be on the lookout for scammers, local and state officials are warning. Scams targeting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also commonly called SNAP or food stamps, are on the uptick, according to Virginia Department of Social Services. In particular, officials warn the real target is the Electronic Benefits Transfer card, or EBT, which shoppers use to buy groceries.

Banana Republic will close its Montgomery Mall location at 7101 Democracy Blvd Suite 2054 on July 17th, according to a representative from the store. Banana Republic has a factory store location at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets that will remain open. The clothing retailer is owned by Gap, which will remain at the mall through its Gap and Gap Kids stores in the upper level by Nordstrom.
