Transplant recipients/living donors from both Las Vegas and Reno competed in this year’s event. LAS VEGAS/RENO, NEV. (July 22, 2024) – Nevada Donor Network is proud to welcome home Team Nevada after a successful showing at the 2024 Donate Life Transplant Games of America including winning 27 medals (14 gold, 10 silver, and three bronze medals). Held in Birmingham, Ala. over the past week, Team Nevada athletes, comprised of transplant recipients and living donors, competed in a variety of events such as swimming, track & field, and bowling. Team Nevada member Dinorah Arambula was also honored as the Female Athlete of the Year.

(KOLO) - The man who was convicted of setting his ex-girlfriend on fire has been sentenced to 70 years in prison. 34-year-old Jeremy Chatman was given the maximum sentence after he was convicted of attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon, domestic battery with the use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial harm, and battery by a parolee with the use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm.

Strong Storms Possible, Flood Watch Posted Through 8pm Wednesday
Rain can be a good thing, but too much of it can lead to flooding. A Flood Watch is posted for the Truckee Meadows, including southern Washoe County, Carson, Douglas, Lyon, Mono, and Mineral Counties through Wednesday evening because of strong thunderstorms. The storms will last longer than the past few days and will be stronger too. This will make for a stormy drive home from work, but they could start around 1pm in South Lake Tahoe and Mono County. They’ll start a couple hours later in the Reno area, right around the evening commute.
