On June 20, 2024, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Asbury Trails in Washington for a possible breaking and entering call.  The property owner reported that he believed someone was inside the rental property, which was supposed to be vacant.

K-9 Athos immediately located 35-year-old Josue Martinez-Diaz hiding within the residence.  Josue was arrested and charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and placed in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $500.00 secured bond.

Beaufort County Sheriff Scott Hammonds encourages anyone with information regarding suspected drug sale/use or any other crime to contact the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office at (252) 946-7111.  You can also submit tips anonymously by contacting Beaufort County Crime Stoppers at (252) 974-6400 or submit confidential tips online at www.p3tips.com/195 .  Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name.
