Branson monthly tax reports show mixed bag
The monthly tax reports for Branson showed a mixed bag for July, with a major decrease in sales tax offset by a large jump in tourism tax revenue. The city’s 1% sales tax revenue for July was $1,159,762, a 5.9% decrease from July 2023, and only $30,000 more than the city’s revenue for July 2022. The dip dropped the city’s pace in sales tax revenue from 6.3% over 2023’s totals for June, to 4.4% for July. In 2024, the city’s total sales tax revenue to date is $8,226,986, which is a record amount for a year-to-date total through July.
