Thomas Jefferson 27, Central Valley 13

The Warriors drop their second straight game of the season falling to Thomas Jefferson after Central Valley struggled to stop the potent Jaguars offense in the second half of play.

After the Warriors trailed by just one point at the half, Thomas Jefferson scored 13 unanswered points in the second half of play as Luke Kosto and Matthew Martinis punched in two scores on the goal line in the third and fourth quarter respectively.

Sophomore running back Jance Henry put together another impressive performance rushing for 120 yards and finding the end zone twice in the loss to the Jaguars. The Warriors are back in action next week as they will travel to the beach to take on Belle Vernon in Rostraver Township.

    New Castle 42, Hopewell 19

The Vikings fell to the Hurricanes Friday night after being outscored 21-6 in the final 24 minutes of Friday night's contest.

Hopewell found itself in a hole early but battled back scoring 13 points in the second quarter with the Vikings finding themselves down six at the half. After a field goal in the second quarter, freshman quarterback James Armstrong punched in his first touchdown of the evening on a one-yard run.

However, following Armstrong's second touchdown of the night, New Castle scored the game’s final 21 points to cruise to a Week 2 victory.

Armstrong completed 50% of his passes going 8-for-16 and throwing for 88 yards. The freshman also found success on the ground rushing 18 times for 49 yards and finding the end zone twice.

    Northgate 29, Riverside 25

The Panthers dropped their second game of the season Friday night as the team narrowly fell to the Flames. Aiden Garcia was on point for Riverside Friday night as despite throwing two interceptions, Garcia threw for 232 yards and finding the end zone four times in the loss to Northgate.

Garcia connected for a touchdown to begin the contest and got the scoring started for Riverside. He would later connect with Zach Hare as he would take it 72 yards for the touchdown to knot the game up at 14 apiece. He would later find Joe Chill for a 15-yard connection before connecting with Hare once again for his final touchdown of the evening.

Riverside will travel to Laurel next week to take on the Spartans on Sept. 6.

Beaver Falls struggled Friday night in its second matchup of the regular season as the team fell to Imani Christian Friday night. Austin Campbell completed just two passes for 52 yards throwing three interceptions in the loss to the Saints Friday night.
