    Times' high school football top performances: Week 6

    The Beaver County Times will recognize high school football players across the Beaver Valley for their impressive performances each week. Here are the standout efforts for Week 6.

    Stephen Knallay, Blackhawk

    Knallay led the offense for the Cougars as he was 10-for-19 passing for 192 yards and four touchdowns in the team’s 29-21 win over Ambridge.

    Tyler Heckathorn, Blackhawk

    Heckathorn was the key beneficiary of Knallay’s success as he hauled in six receptions for 69 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Ambridge.

    Jayce McCracken, Ambridge

    McCracken scored two of Ambridge’s touchdowns as he rushed 10 times for 102 yards in the Bridgers loss to Blackhawk.

    Robbie Janis, Riverside

    The senior running back scored the Panther's first points of the game and finished rushing 31 times for 112 yards in Riverside’s 14-0 win over Freedom Area.

    Qualan Cain, Beaver Area

    Cain put together another 100-yard rushing effort this week as he rushed nine times for 156 yards and three touchdown scores in the Bobcats 42-0 win over Deer Lakes.

    Amari Jackson, Beaver Area

    Jackson rushed 11 times for 78 yards averaging 6.9 yards per carry while reaching the end zone once in the team’s win over the Lancers.

    Mason Dixon, Central Valley

    Dixon put together a career night for the Warriors as he rushed 25 times for 284 yards and four touchdowns in the team’s 46-38 win over North Catholic.

    Steven Rutherford, Central Valley

    Rutherford rushed for 53 yards and two touchdown scores while also finding the end zone once through the air for a 15-yard touchdown. The senior gunslinger was 7-for-12 passing for 102 yards.

    James Armstrong, Hopewell

    Armstrong reached the end zone twice in Hopewell’s 56-24 win over McGuffey. The freshman quarterback was 14-for-22 through the air passing for 191 yards and one touchdown. Armstrong also rushed 17 times for 15 yards reaching the end zone once on the ground.

    Brody Rock, Hopewell

    Rock rushed 15 times for 33 yards reaching the end zone twice in the team’s win over McGuffey.

    AC Corfield, South Side

    Corfield scored the winning touchdown in overtime as he rushed 10 yards for the score and converted the 2-point conversion. The senior rushed 33 times for 156 yards and three touchdown scores in South Side Area’s 36-35 win over Northgate.

    Za’Saun McElvy, Beaver Falls

    McElvy scored the Tiger's lone points of the game as he rushed for a 6-yard score. The senior finished the game with 27 touches for 100 yards in the team’s 21-8 loss to Union.

    Tiqwai Hayes, Aliquippa

    Hayes rushed for the Quip's first two touchdown scores and finished the game rushing 23 times for 188 yards in Aliquippa's 19-7 win over West Allegheny.

    Jared Moyer, Moon Area

    Moyer made an impact on both sides of the ball for the Tigers Friday night as the junior hauled in a 74-yard reception for a score. On the next drive on defense, Moyer strip-sacked Peters Township quarterback Nolan DiLuca which was then scooped up and scored by Nick Clemens in the team’s 23-14 loss.
