    It's Cal Week in Pittsburgh: matchups to look for as Panthers host California Golden Bears

    It's Cal Week in Pittsburgh, as the undefeated Pittsburgh Panthers, now the 22nd-ranked football program in the nation, will take on the Golden Bears in a mid-afternoon tilt on Saturday that will have an impact on ACC rankings .

    Here's what you need to know about the Panthers-Golden Bears clash, including how to attend or watch live.

    Pitt Panthers-Golden Bears game

    The Panthers, now 5-0 and coming off last weekend's conference victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels , will need to contain California quarterback Fernando Mendoza as a first order of business in another crucial Atlantic Coast Conference matchup.

    Mendoza has thrown for 1,777 yards and tossed seven touchdowns against three interceptions so far this season.

    Mendoza's favorite target is first-year wide receiver Nyziah Hunter, who has amassed 185 receiving yards and four touchdowns on the season.

    Panthers head coach Pat Narduzzi, whom was on the hot seat entering this season, will counter Mendoza's air game with a stout defense, led by defensive back Donavan McMillon and linebacker Kyle Louis.

    McMillion has 45 total tackles, three broken passes, one forced fumble and one interception, while Louis accounted for 42 total tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble and one broken pass on the season.

    The Golden Bears will also have to contend with the Panthers' air attack, led by quarterback Eli Holstein, who has thrown for 1,564 yards and 15 touchdowns this season. Holstein has also rushed for three touchdowns.

    Wide receiver Konata Mumpfield is Holstein's top target, who has 426 receiving yards to go along with three touchdowns.

    Panthers hosting Golden Bears for first time since 1963; how to watch

    More than 60 years have lapsed since the last time the Panthers hosted the Golden Bears. The Panthers beat the Golden Bears, 35-15, on Oct. 5, 1963.

    Tickets remain available for the rematch decades in the making.

    The Panthers-Golden Bears game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will broadcast on ESPN .
