Boris Said and Pancho Weaver Back Together at Watkins Glen
Although you can see him at the racetrack every weekend that his son, Boris Said Jr., is racing in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series, Boris Said finally returns to action behind the wheel at Watkins Glen, making just his second start of the season. Said will pilot the No. 2 Ultimate Headers/Weaver Racing Dodge Challenger, a machine he has frequently driven to strong finishes. This is the same car that Brent Crews drove to victory in Trans Am’s most recent outing at Road America in June.
Chris Dyson Fastest By Two Seconds in Watkins Glen Practice
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (August 24, 2024) – Practice has concluded for the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli at the Mission Foods Watkins Glen SpeedTour. Chris Dyson in the No. 16 GYM WEED Ford Mustang topped the speed charts with a blazing-fast lap time of 1:43.914, more than two seconds quicker than second place Adam Andretti (No. 17 Top Liner/Castrol Chevrolet Camaro) and his 1:45.917.
Merrill Dominates Watkins Glen’s TA2 Race for Second Season Win
Thomas Merrill had a standout performance at Watkins Glen International, securing his first pole position of the 2024 season and cruising to victory in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series race. Leading every lap in his No. 26 HP Tuners/Cope Race Cars Ford Mustang, Merrill faced a brief disruption due to safety cars but ultimately pulled away from the competition, finishing with a 5-second lead. Throughout the race, multiple competitors faced challenges, including mechanical issues and accidents. Merrill's victory reflects not only his skill but also his car’s exceptional performance, which he credited to his crew and crew chief Jason Bowser.
