    Big talent, small stage: Beaverton’s Ten Tiny Dances showcases compact choreography

    The stage may be tiny, but the artistic passion displayed by performers in Beaverton’s Ten Tiny Dances is anything but.

    At 7 p.m. Saturday, July 13, Ten Tiny Dances returns to the 4-foot-by-4-foot stage in The Round, located at 12600 S.W. Crescent St. The event is free.

    Ten exemplary dancers will showcase their skills in both contemporary and traditional dance on the small stage. This year, the 10 dancers are:

    Amel Tafsout, performing North African Desert dance.Jaime Belden and Leo James, showcasing contemporary Argentine tango.Ritual Azteca Huitzilopochtli, performing the sacred Huilo-It dance.Shaun Keylock, showcasing contemporary choreography.Addam Stell and TJ Yale, performing tap dance.Face King, showcasing cultural contemporary dance anchored by his Ghanaian roots.Sarada Kala Nilayam, presenting Bharatanatyam/South Indian dance.Ben Youngstone and Hannah Davis, performing contemporary dance.push/FOLD, showcasing athletic contemporary dance.Painted Sky Northstar, performing Native American dance.

    Ahead of the show, enjoy entertainment from White Lotus Dragon & Lion Dance, and stick around for the Ten Tiny Dances Talkback with founder Mike Barber and the performers.

    “This event engages, surprises, delights, and perhaps challenges the community around art in public spaces, and highlights the artistic and cultural diversity of Beaverton,” a press release about the event stated.
