Arson suspect lit car on fire before fleeing from scene, deputies say

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an arson case involving a car on fire in a Beaverton driveway early Thursday morning.

Fire crews responded to the fire near 20600 SW Rockport Lane around 3:50 a.m. after a person called 911 to report “a vehicle on fire in the driveway of a home and a person in all-black clothing running from the scene.”

The car fire did not spread to the house, and officials say the home had been unoccupied at the time.

Deputies never found the person in all-black clothing. Anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to contact authorities.
