    Beaverton teen dead after car crashes into tree

    PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – A Beaverton teenager is dead after the car she was driving crashed into a tree Thursday afternoon, officials say.

    Authorities responded to an upside down white Jeep Wrangler in the area of 19000 Tile Flat Road around 2:27 p.m. The driver, 17-year-old Mai Grace Tankersley, was dead when officials arrived.

    “At this time there is no indication of what caused Tankersley’s Jeep to crash,” according to police. “Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor and it is unknown how fast Tankersley’s Jeep was traveling prior to the crash.”

    An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Beaverton police.
