It was a lost weekend for the Altoona Curve, which lost all three games to Somerset despite three strong pitching performances. The Curve lost 2-0 on Friday, 2-1 on Saturday in a game in which Thoams Harrington struck out ten, and 3-2 yesterday. Hunter Barco made his Double-A debut and threw three scoreless one-hit innings, striking out five. CRESSON – Mount Aloysius College is launching a hybrid certificate pathway for individuals who have a bachelor’s degree and are looking for a streamlined path to become a teacher starting in fall 2024. In this new accelerated certificate program, students will use their degrees in English, biology, history, or political science and become certified to teach those topics to grades 7-12 in just four semesters.

CAST to host open auditions for 'The Miser'
CLEARFIELD — Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre, Inc. seeks talented actors age 18+ to fill the various roles in their upcoming comedic play ‘The Miser.’ Auditions will be held July 28 and 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. Those auditioning will read from the script and participate in various exercises. The cast calls for two sets of young lovers, three scheming servants, other moneylenders, a nobleman and two justices. There could be doubling of some characters. This production is directed by Gayle Gearhart. Performances are Sept. 5-7 and Sept. 12-14 at 7:30 p.m. Those who are auditioning are expected to be at all performances and attend as many rehearsals as possible.
Superintendent: DASD free lunch program off to a great start
