Crooked Creek Winery hosts downtown summer concert series
Sunday afternoon saw week four of the summer concert series in downtown Centralia hosted by the Crooked Creek Winery. The Beaucoup Bottom Band performed for a crowd of hundreds in the street on East Broadway. The weekly event also features food trucks, drink tents, and community activities such as the Suds Fest homebrew competition and Compete in the Street singing competition. Crooked Creek owner Shannon Cooney talked about the inspiration for this event and its success:

Heavy rains hit part of South Central Illinois Sunday evening, flooding some rural roads and delaying the start of the Ruby Leigh Concert at the Marion County Fair. The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for parts of Marion County as a result of the heavy band of rain that moved up from the south.
New furniture store coming to Sunset Hills
SUNSET HILLS, Mo. — A Midwest-based furniture retailer will be opening a new store in two vacant storefronts at a prominent shopping center in St. Louis County. Slumberland Furniture, a family-owned furniture retailer headquartered in Oakdale, Minnesota, will take over the space vacated last year by big-box retailer Bed Bath and Beyond and formalwear seller David’s Bridal, at the Plaza at Sunset Hills, said the center's owner and manager, Sansone Group. The shopping center is at the intersection of South Lindbergh Boulevard and Watson Road in south St. Louis County.
