Detroit Lakes man sentenced for short-barrel shotgun
DETROIT LAKES — Pierre De Wilson, 37, of Detroit Lakes, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony possession of a short-barrel shotgun. According to court records, the charge stemmed from an Oct. 8, 2021, incident, in which Wilson was a back-seat passenger in a 2007 Ford Edge that had been reported stolen in Perham. It was pulled over by a White Earth police officer, who found a sawed-off Mossberg 20 gauge shotgun beneath the driver's side rear seat. The weapon was loaded with five rounds. Video, fingerprint and other evidence pointed to Wilson as the owner of the shotgun.

A 1996 Chrysler Town & Country, driven by 48-year-old Cory Thomas Swift of Faribault, veered off the road and rolled into a ditch, landing on its roof.
