BEAVER, WV (WVNS) – One fitness group kicked off the month of June at Grandview State Park.

On June 1st, ‘REFIT’ hosted a summer class at Shelter 4. REFIT takes fitness to a different level by focusing on community and positivity.

After the workout, participants went on a hike to the Grandview Overlook.

Jennifer Bledsoe, Facilitator for Team REFIT in Beckley, said REFIT is not just about fitness, but it is fitness with a purpose.

“A lot of people come to us because weight loss. They find more than weight loss when they come to us. If they come for weight loss, that may happen as a byproduct, but were there to get their heart to show them that they matter and that they have a place in this world too. We work the heart muscles and the ‘muscle muscles’,” said Bledsoe to 59News.

Bledsoe said fitness does not have to be scary. She said the hardest part is walking in, but encouragement is right through that door.
