Man beats woman with a plastic garbage can and fist

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man faces charges after hitting a woman with his fist and beating her with a blue plastic garbage can.

On June 25, 2024, Beckley Police responded to a Patch St., Beckley, WV disturbance. Emergency officials informed Police that the victim reported being threatened by Jeremy Henry with a brick after days of fighting. Upon reaching the area, Police witnessed Jeremy Henry and the victim walking on Terril St. towards Buckland St.

Police conversed with Mr. Henry, who explained that he and the victim had been residing at his Granny’s house. Mr. Henry mentioned that an argument ensued when the victim left the garage door open, leading to a physical altercation.

Speaking with the victim, she disclosed that they had been staying in the garage where Mr. Henry had been using drugs. She expressed her desire to end the relationship, which triggered the argument.

The victim detailed that Mr. Henry physically assaulted her by hitting her face with his fist, using a blue plastic garbage can, and continued beating her and striking her left leg with a cane. She also mentioned that Mr. Henry threatened her with a brick until law enforcement intervened.

Upon examination, Police noticed redness on the victim’s face, a bump above her left eyebrow, and red marks on her left leg from the cane. No visible injuries were observed on Mr. Henry.

Jeremy Henry was arrested at the scene and is facing charges of Domestic Battery .
