City of Beckley to host electric fireworks show for the 4th of July

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) – The City of Beckley is celebrating Independence Day with a bang.

Their fireworks display will be set off at 9:30 P.M. at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center and Beckley Little League Fields.

They are bringing in Starfire, a group of professionals, to put on an electric fireworks show.

Director of Beckley Events, Jill Moorefield, told 59News how they hope to make your Fourth of July one to remember.

“It’s just their way of celebrating,” said Moorefield. “You can have your picnics during the day and then come out in the evening and a lot of people kind of tailgate sometimes and just enjoy themselves and wait for the fireworks display. It’s just kind of the end of a wonderful patriotic day and like I said, we have activities throughout the weekend on Friday and Saturday.”

There will also be plenty of vendors selling concessions at the back garage entrance.
