The annual Bex Arts Festival returns to Beckley for 5th year

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — The BEX arts festival returns to the City of Beckley on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

The festival, which is in its fifth year, offers patrons opportunities to experience the work of West Virginia artists in downtown Beckley.

Organizer Saja Montague, a Beckley creator, said BEX 2024 will be marked by an emphasis on the performing arts.

Other notable events include exhibits at the Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia and A Rizo/Bickey Art Show at the Grant Building on Neville Street.

The organizers said the festival has returned to its roots of promoting creativity among local artists for the benefit of patrons.

“Being creative in the events we make, being creative in the marketing and how we put it out there,” said Montague on Monday. “It’s like having our creative brain take over, versus our business brains.”

BEX 2024 boasts four days of performances, art shows, exhibits and other activities.
