Level up at the 2024 Beckley Gaming Expo

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS)– If you’re looking to level up your weekend, you could just pop over to this year’s Beckley gaming expo on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

This gaming and arcade event raises money for AWAY, formerly known as the Women’s Resource Center.

Visitors get to play in tournaments, tabletop gaming, video games, classic board games and arcade games- among shopping the many vendors.

There are three ticket types; a power up ticket that’s all day gaming at $40, a competitive gamer ticket at $20, and a game all day ticket at $10. Kids under five get in free.

Desiree Christian is the event coordinator, and she said their goal is to raise $10,000 this year for AWAY and the community.

“All of the proceeds that we make from the event, from ticket sales to merchandise sales, all of it gets donated to help their cause,” said Christian. “Not only does it help AWAY, it also helps the community, and it provides fun entertainment in a safe environment for the community to come out, enjoy themselves, and be themselves.”

The Beckley Gaming Expo begins tomorrow at 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Beckley- Raleigh County Convention Center.
