    Join WVU Tech for dinosaur-themed story time and activities

    BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Nick Gardner, a natural history researcher and library director at WVU Potomac State College is presenting a children’s story time and crafting session in Beckley.

    The books that will be part of the presentation are “Dinosaur Lady” and Skippyjon Jones and the Big Bones,” and Mr. Gardner will lead a crafting session where kids will have the chance to create their own personal dinosaur puppet. In addition, Mr. Gardner will have fossils from across the Mountain State to bring the prehistoric period to you, including squids, sharks and ancient amphibians.

    “Summer of Cows”: Join Chick-fil-A and the Raleigh County Public Library for summer reading events!

    The event, set to happen on Saturday August 3, will take place at the Robert C. Byrd Learning Resource Center in the 2nd Floor Learning Commons. The Learning Center is located at 512 S. Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV 25801.

    The story time and fossil event is limited to 25 kids. For more information regarding the festivities, those interested in attending may register here.
