Louisiana Flood Threat Elevated – ‘Next Level’ Rains Likely

The Weather Prediction Center has once again placed the rainfall "bullseye" squarely on Louisiana and southwestern Louisiana in particular for strong storms with torrential downpours between now and early Friday morning.
Carthage’s Hooper has another big rodeo week
SALINAS, Calif. (KLTV) - Carthage native Tilden Hooper brought home over $10,000 over the weekend at two different rodeos. At the Snake River Stampede in Nampa, Idaho, Hooper finished in second place in average with a score of 172 on two head. That finish earned him $3,371. In the finals, Hooper finished in second place with a score of 88 on a horse named Womanizer to win $1,250. At the California Rodeo Salinas in Salinas, California, Hooper placed second in round one on a horse named Lucky Charm with a score of 84.5 to earn $4,623. Hooper placed sixth in average to earn an additional $1,156, for a total winnings of $10,400.

FRISCO, Texas (KLTV) - Players from Longview, Chapel Hill, Mabank, Tyler Legacy and Lindale land on the All-Conference team for the Southland conference. Former Longview Lobo Dekalon Taylor found himself named on both first and second teams. Taylor was named to the first team as a kick returner. Last season, Taylor finished with 19 kick returns for a total of 375 yards. Taylor is first in the conference for kick returns and second for kick return yards per game. Taylor was also named to the second team as a punt returner. In 2023, Taylor ran for 207 yards on punt returns.
