Shock and Horror in Hicksville: Brothers Arrested After Savage Machete Attack at Local Hotel
The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of two undomiciled males for an incident that occurred on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 10:55 a.m. in Hicksville. According to Detectives, officers responded to the Days Inn, located at 828 S. Oyster Bay Road, for a disturbance. Upon police arrival, it was determined that a male victim, 43, was involved in a verbal argument with two individuals which escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident, defendant Jelony Conze, 21, used his 2005 Nissan Altima to strike the victim. Defendant Conze exited the vehicle, with a machete, and slashed the victim’s hands multiple times causing severe lacerations.

A voluntary recall has been expanded due to the potential health threat it poses in New York State. Wiers Farm Inc. of Willard, Ohio, is expanding its July 12, 2024, recall. Domestic violence shelters and service providers across New York State now have access to free Overdose Emergency Kits. This initiative is a partnership between the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (OPDV), the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), and the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).
